A Day To Remember!

As I walked into the retirement community this morning, I was reminded of how Remembrance Day affects people in so many different ways.

I asked one gentleman if he was going to attend the ceremony? He replied “I will celebrate in my own way”…

At first I thought he was being cheeky, but he really meant that Remembrance Day means something different to him. What I loved 🥰 was his genuine authenticity in his response.

The lady that I spend much time with, requires I meet her where she is at emotionally and physically.

Simply turning the ceremony up loud and hearing the children’s choir was enough to entice her to watch the ceremonies. The bag pipes said it all on her face, she drew a memory.

I am always amazed at the responses from clients and friends when their memory triggers something special.

How you choose to remember and spend your day is a unique choice, I truly believe there are many hero’s past and present. That being said I believe that term should not be thrown around lightly.

Many of the hero’s I see today are not in the public eye. They are helping behind the scenes and are not in the spotlight, nor do they want the spotlight. You do not need to be a hero to large scales of people. If you are helping someone in need or solving a problem to make someone else’s day better, that qualifies. Your pure intentions.

To our seniors who served in the war, thank you for your service. It remains true that November 11th is a day to remember now and always.

Have an amazing day!

Ps - many of us are now starting to get snow - this morning my car temp was in the 50 plus degree. A short but warm paddle on the lake was perfect.
